Doubt is the direct opposite of faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, it is receiving, believing and doing God’s word. While faith concentrates on things working, doubt concentrates on things not working out, and doubt denies the workability of things.
The
major words in the vocabulary of doubt are impossible,
not and never. I read an inspiring piece that addressed this issue of doubt
and I would like to share it with you, the topic is ‘why do we experience so
much doubt?
1) Because doubt satisfies our need for self-protection.
We don’t like to be wrong, to get hurt, or to fail, so, our subconscious
reasoning says ‘it is easier not to trust, to lower my expectation, so, I won’t
e disappointed’ but you are disappointed aren’t you? Why?
2)
Because doubting comes easily, we don't wake up in the morning and say to
ourselves, today, I am going to doubt God; no, doubt moves into a vacuum, it
takes over when we don’t do the right thing Faith cometh by hearing and
hearing by the word of God, Rom 10:17.
If you don’t keep your mind filled with God’s word, you will constantly de
assailed by doubts.
3)
Because doubters are easy to find. Sometimes the people around us dwell on the
obstacles and difficulties, opening the door to doubt. And once you get carried
along with it.
4)
Because doubting is contagious. Doubt is easier to catch than the common cold,
and its carriers are words.
The
bible says ‘you are trapped by your own words’ proverbs 6:2. The words you
speak and listen to will build you up or tear you down, increase your faith or
decrease it. They determine your outlook and approach to life. So,
in other to move from doubt to faith, you must start eliminating unscriptural
words from your life.
This
piece was a blessing, I decided afterward to raise my possibility living and
rebuff the doubtful living pattern. What about you?
