Wise Up

 Wisdom is the Principal thing, therefore, get Wisdom...

 

The Spirit of the Lord shall be upon him, the Spirit of Wisdom…Isa 11:2

Many years ago, I knew a woman who loved the Lord; she was a member of our church and was passionate about increasing in grace. She worked in a crèche; she tended the little children, mostly the tender ones. On this day, a particular child was crying and wouldn’t stop. Mrs. Faith (not original name) tried to pacify him but he wouldn’t be comforted, everything she did wouldn’t suffice; toys wouldn’t do, food wouldn’t, not even backing the child could help the poor child, he persisted yet more.

The terrible part was that the child couldn’t speak as yet; Mrs. Faith was concerned but she didn’t know what to do. In the confusion, she kept quiet and reasoned; a moment of prayer would help. She prayed, asking the Lord to help her to help the child as he was in some discomfort.

Moments after the prayer, she drew the child closer, opened his mouth, dipped her hand in his mouth and deeper into the throat; there, she pulled out a few strands of hair, as she pulled, more and more would follow; after a while, she was able to rid the child of a large mass of human hair resident in its digestive tract.

The wisdom of the Holy Spirit helped her do what was necessary to save the situation, such is the leadership of the Spirit of wisdom, He makes one wise, thank God the woman asked for help beyond the scope of scanners. I told her ‘that was the Spirit of wisdom and that Spirit is at work in you’.

Friends, you can enjoy this rare priviledge that accrues to the sons of God, Jn 1:12. By the Spirit of wisdom at work in us, the Lord helps us to act in wisdom. The Holy Spirit makes us do what we need to do when we need to do them But they were unable to cope with the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking Acts 6:9-10, He doesn’t want you to waste time or keep trying out everything, rather getting it right, someone once said that 90% of wisdom is in rightness in time. God is interested in you getting it right in your life’s race and cause.

Fellowship with the Holy Spirit must be a top priority. If you desire the Spirit of wisdom, seek the Holy Spirit, develop intimacy with Him and persist at that. Ask the Holy Spirit to make you wise. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God…Ja 1:5
