Whom do you say that I am Mt 1:15

Jesus' earth-time buddies, we call them His disciples, loved to hang around him and be with him always. They enjoyed His Company and knew there was more to the man than meets the rational mind. One day, Jesus teased them asking about public perception of His persona, the answers were: John, Elijah, Jeremiah, one of the prophets, then he asked a personalized question, whom do you say that I am. Peter was able to respond by revelation. Hence, they related from a sense of the revelation forthwith. The extent of your walk with Him is determined by the depth of your revelation of Him. Why do you follow Jesus? Mt 16:13-17

Some folks had just eaten the next meal in a miraculous manner similar only to manna in the wilderness, an experience they might have read about. The miraculous meal triggered their carnal minds to refer to Jesus as the prophet; they would further campaign to make king, being ready to vote him into government! Food was their motivation, not revelation. Why do you follow Jesus? Jn 6: 10-13

Jesus rode triumphantly into Jerusalem on a Donkey; people welcomed Him warmly lining the path with their cloth and with palm branches, chanting Hosanna. They perceived that their conquering king had come, some few days later many from that crowd would scream crucify Him. Why do you follow Jesus? Mt 21:1-11

Jesus had risen from the dead and had appeared to many, while admonishing His disciples, one of them asked, would you at this time restore back the government to Israel, Jesus response proved that they didn't fully grasp the purpose of His presence at the time. They sought political emancipation other than spiritual rejuvenation. Why do you follow Jesus? Acts 1:7-8

We all have our reasons, some selfish, some meaningful, some purposeful. Whatever it is, follow Jesus for the revelation of His person, follow Jesus because you love Him 1 Jn 4:19

  1. Honestly, it's a tough question.
We can only pray for The Spirit of God to help us so that we can stop acting according to the dictates of the flesh.
This is one of the messages that begs the question, why and for whom are we here?
Help us oh Lord to live a fulfilled life according to your will in Jesus name, Amen.

  3. Many people has different reasons why they follow Jesus but whatsoever be the reasons, it shouldn't be selfish reasons. It should be such that brings glory to God. We should not allow flesh to dictate for us. It should not be only what we get from him but what we also need to offer. His name deserve to be praised and glorified. Thank for this wonderful sermon sir and God bless you real good.
