Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall ascend his Holy tabernacle, he that hath clean hand and a pure heart, who hath not lifted up his heart unto vanity nor sworn deceitfully Ps 24: 3-4
God
is calling us to a higher place, a better place, greater accomplishment, and a higher plane, but there are conditions to it. God is a lot more interested in
taking you higher than you would ever desire, which is why he posed the question, who shall ascend? Shall you? It is
time to change your level, move higher!
Clean Hands
Clean
suggests pure, innocent, blameless, clear, guiltless, this word is used when a
person is liberated from slavery. Hands
often suggest or point to work or manifestation, in other words, how a person
manifests or is perceived. The works you do are the things you are seen
with or identified with! Are they clean, clear, are you guiltless, do they show
you to be liberated or free from slavery. Clean hands also point to the
external life, your manifestations.
Pure in Heart: Matt 5:8,
A
blameless internal life, intentions, motivations, the reason for doing what you do,
your private life. The pure in heart will see God, God is above, in other
words, you will ascend if your heart is pure. Is your heart pure? God wants to
present us blameless in the end. People with a pure heart don’t perceive
everything and everyone to be dirt. What is your heart condition, what is going
on within?
The Truthful: Jn 8:32,
Some
people make promises without any intention of keeping them, some even swear
without a commitment in the heart. The people that will go up and mount are
those that are truthful, sincere with themselves and with others. Truth is a
shield, we should be mindful, to tell the truth always. Only the truth guarantees lasting deliverance in life. Are you
sincere in your dealings, can you be trusted, can you be counted on, can your
smooth talk and sweet tongue/words be backed up with the truth
Those not given to vanity. Eccl 12:8,
In other words, they have not made an idol out of anything that they possess.
Vanity is the pursuit of the unworthy, an unusual attachment, commitment, or
worship of anything or anyone aside from God. The
gold of the Israelites was a golden moment until they turned it into an object
of worship, whenever you transfer
unusual affection/worship to anything or anyone, it becomes your idol and
you are said to live after vanity. What do you make of the things that God has
blessed you with, have they become your object of worship, have you transferred
your affection to them?
Tit 1:5, Jude vs 24, Jn17:17, Ps
138:2, Ex 32:1-8, Rev 9:20
