And
God said, Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the
face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have
them for food
My feeding habit had
always been a thing of concern to my parents from childhood till date. They
have tried everything possible to get me to eat well, all to no avail. Drugs, counseling,
force, etc. Then they concluded that it was a thing of the mind. My Mum would
say that I have to condition my mind to eat at the right time, a term that I’d
call ‘Food O’clock’. She advised that I needn’t wait till I am hungry before
eating, once it’s Food O’ clock, I should eat, no matter how little. It’s okay
to eat little by little as long as it’s frequent enough, she would say.
My indifference wasn’t
helping matters as I was also very selective of food. Most of the meals that
are healthy and highly nutritious weren’t the kind of foods that I loved;
instead, junks were my most frequently consumed food. I went on like this till
I fell terribly ill; it was a life threatening experience which I will never
forget. Doctors said that I was deficient in some vital nutrients and I was
sternly told to start eating right. Thank God I am alive today doing better and
I tell this to the glory of God.
A lot of Christians are
like this, today, feeding haphazardly on the essential life sustenance
materials. 1 Pet 2:5 says as
new born babes, desire the sincere milk of the word that you may grow thereby.
In referring to diet here, I wouldn’t just be referring to food for the body alone,
but also foods that we feed our minds and spirits with
What
is your diet: What do you eat, good food or junks? Do
you eat any food or some specified lot; are you on a special feeding regimen? What
do you allow into your system, it would define what you would look like and
what you would give out to others (performance)? Do you pay attention to nutritious
and healthy meals? Your diet determines your state of health (mental, physical,
emotional, and spiritual) Pr 24:3.
What
kind of meal do you consume: Is your meal well made,
thoroughly made or a fast made meal, this is a talk about the quality of what
you eat? The quality of what you eat matters. Do you allow qualitative words,
thoughts, ideas and people into your life; it really does matter who and what
you let in as it determines what your eventual out turn would be Heb
5:12-14
If you do not eat well,
how will you grow properly? When sickness (temptation) comes, how will you be
able to withstand it the right way?
The right meal
represents righteousness, a righteous portion Deut 8:3, Matt
4:4:
doing right, living right, feeding right and eating right are things that help
a healthy daily growth. You need to get it right today

As a man thinketh, so he is but faith cometh by hearing the word of God.
ReplyDeleteOur source will always determine our resource and results.
May God and His Word (Jesus Christ) remain our source indeed in Jesus name.
AMen and Amen. Our source determines our resources, wow
ReplyDeleteIf we eat healthy either physical food or we are been fed spiritually, we will be healthy.whatever we take in will determine what we get in return , efficiency or deficiency. To be healthy spiritual, there is need to feed ourselves with God's words every. Joshua1:8 says this book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, thou shall meditate therein day and night. That thou may observe to do according to all that is written therein. For then thou shall make thy ways prosperous and have good success. This implies that if we feed ourselves with the words of God everyday we will be prosperous and have good success. Prosperity and good success can also mean all round wellness, peace of mind, joy, good health, favour with God and man, riches and wealth etc and when we get all these, sickness cannot find any place to dwell in our body because we eat the right words. God blesd you sir
ReplyDeletei love this caption 'efficiency or deficiency'
DeleteWe were told to eat food as medicine not just what appeal to our taste bud. So also is the word of God, sometimes we might not feel like reading, memorizing or waiting on the Lord but we need to anyway.
