For without faith, no man shall see the Lord

And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

Jesus was out on an evangelistic campaign. As usual, his disciples were with him and as at other times, the crowd was large and pressing to see, touch and meet him. Crusades those days were crude and rowdy, unlike these days where we have better coordination and organized ministry mechanisms.

Why would People Crowd around Jesus?

1. There were no public address systems that might have provided an option of distance away from Jesus. This would have meant that he was as close as possible to the people.

2. There were no orderly protocols; Jesus' disciples were with him but not as formal aides, protocols, or security.

3. There was massive longing amidst the seekers of Jesus; they could hardly be kept away, the same reason we seek Jesus today.

In the midst of this, Jesus asked a rather strange question, 'who touched me?', His disciples were taken aback because such question at that time and place felt out of place, then, Peter responded Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched meHowever, Jesus insisted that someone had touched him.

It turned out that Jesus was indeed right, someone had touched him, but this touch wasn’t a mere accidental or ordinary touch, this was a touch of intent, a touch of faith! A million touches of emotional sentiment wouldn’t move Jesus; he wouldn’t even notice carnal touches. People can testify to touching him, many may even boldly attest to seeing him, holding him, and touching him, but the real touch is verified and known to Him and by Him.

In the multitude of seekers and touchers, only one woman had enough faith to touch Him, faith enough to connect virtue. You do not touch him unless you reach out by faith, no virtue connection unless there is a faith reach, and no power flow until you connect by faith. Seek Him with faith in your heart, spend time in His presence but ensure that you are faith connected to Him.
