And my God shall supply all your needs according
to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus Phil 4:19
To personalize a person is to make that person personal or more
personal; another word to describe this is to individualize a thing or
person. This tells about the way and level of relating, a deep
emotional mix in relating with another.
Personalizing God means to have a fellowship with God that you
call Him your personal God, just like Paul called Him ‘My God’.
Personalizing has a lot to do with the worth and value that we attribute to any
given person;
You see, there is a Personal worth and a Universal worth for everything that there is:
The universal worth is the general perception of any given person or thing, it doesn't suggest all about a person’s reality, it is sometimes wrong and sometimes right,
The personal worth is who you are or what you are worth in the eyes of those closest to you, who you are to those that really know you, your critical analysis is your personal worth. Your real worth lies in the hands of those that know you quite critically! What is God worth with you? The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him Ps 25:14.
In personalizing God, we refer to the personal worth of God with
us, our personal understanding of Him as God and how we esteem Him, Jesus
showed us this pattern Jn 14:10. At certain times, I have had to refer to
certain people as mine or regarding them as my personal persons, I say ‘my father’,
‘my mother’, ‘my brother’ and ‘my sister’, and this just means personalizing or
making personal Jn 14:6.
I understand quite deeply the meaning and implication of calling
someone my father, not just a father. while there are many that can stand up to
a fatherly role, only one or few can qualify to be my father, that is the one I
can call mine, because, levels of commitment to me would never be same, and
connection levels both emotionally and committedly also would be invariably
different. Intimacy would always be a core parameter in determining a
personalizing concept.
You personalize by spending more time with, valuing the person
deeply and giving up all that you are and have for the sake of the person.
The big benefit of personalizing is the privilege of access.
We have unfettered access to God, an unlimited access Rom 5:2, Heb 4:16, Eph 2:18
Intimacy is often discovered in the values that we place on the
people involved, while intimacy breeds respect, familiarity breeds contempt.
Leave the path of familiarity, get into God. Jesus awaits you yet!
Rom 5:8
God bless You!
This level of relationship is what God require of us and, it's very important that we attain it.
