Every man would someday give an account of how they lived their lives and what they did with and in their bodies, Rom 14:12.
The
salter has great expectations of and from the salt, He expects that the salt
would carry on its role perfectly, Gen 1:27, Deut 8:18;
He also expects that whatever He commits to the salt would be preserved until
his coming Jude 3.
Someday
soon, the Lord would ask in expectation from the salt what happened to the
earth, just as anyone preserving would expect the food to remain intact after
the storage/preservation period. And,
behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according
as his work shall be, Rev 22:12.
The 25th chapter of Matthew tells of a master who had three servants to
whom he had committed his business because he was to embark on a journey for a
period. He told them to occupy till he returned; he returned and demanded
accountability. In like manner, the Lord would return and demand same from us;
This runs a parallel message and concept on the saltine expectation.
The
master would be back and He would ask questions, give gifts, rewards and also
apportion punishments to whoever deserves it.
May God empower us to be rooted and deeper too as we contend for the faith in this pervasive world
