Leave Your Covering, Get His Cloth

 Grace is the Covering of Christ

Not of works, lest any man should boast, Eph 2:9: That no flesh should glory in his presence,1 Corr 1:29.

Grace is the essence of the fullness of God; grace is allowing the expression of God in and through us. When man fell, he immediately became conscious of his flesh and began afterward to get a covering of leaves to shield it, that became man’s way of life of man; in everything, he wanted to get a covering for himself, he wanted to find his own way around everything, solve all his own problems, get results without God and get himself covered.

This rather strange make-up contravened man’s original design; he had become the lord of his own life. Even when God clothed him with animal skin suggesting a way of relating with him and bringing back a revival of fellowship, man still went in search of other coverings, one of such was religion. Religion was man’s idea of relating with God, man’s own system of seeking peace with God.

Man’s covering made God’s righteous law look weak, the law is good and the law is righteous, ‘Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good Rom 7:12. Our works will never lead us to the place of fulfillment, ‘Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts’, Zech 4:6; our power and our might will never help us to fulfill purpose in life, only the Lord will.

Leave your covering and get His cloth. Set aside your system and look up to God. Looking up to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…
