'Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all

Written by: Akinyemi Temitope Lois

Continued from yesterday

The mercy of the lord located me, on the third day. The bleeding stopped miraculously.

My Joy was full and my friends rejoiced with me; however, this was only just the beginning.

In my final year, the bleeding returned. I prayed and fasted and also shared it with my fiancé who is now my husband. We kept praying about it; it lasted for about a month and stopped.

At the beginning of my service year, the bleeding started again. I visited the hospital and did series of scans and tests. The scan result showed that there wasn’t any anomaly; however, the test result stated that I had PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome); but I knew it was more of a spiritual battle. It affected my menstrual cycle and it wasn't regular anymore. I was so scared of being barren in the future; infertility, being one of the things mentioned by the doctor. I kept praying and praying.

I took a trip down to Lagos to see my spiritual father from Ibadan where I lived at the time. He was quite surprised when I arrived because instead of looking frail and weak, I was instead fresh and fatter; I knew the glory of God was upon me.  I was losing so much blood yet looked fresh and fatter, it was truly a wonder.; it made me remember Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who went through the fire and did not burn; rather, they came out shining. That was my exact experience. He prayed with me and the bleeding ceased again.

When I finished my NYSC (National Youths Service Corps) program and got my first job, the bleeding returned. I was angry and frustrated as I wondered why it kept recurring. The bleeding lasted for about a month and two weeks. As at other times, it ceased after series of prayers, praises and pleading the blood of Jesus to break every bond of affliction.

It was afterward that it dawned on me that there was a pattern; the affliction comes at every point of promotion

I concluded, the enemy wasn’t pleased with my progress and wanted to afflict me to discourage me from going further; of course, my spiritual father confirmed this as he prayed with me and I was convinced that the affliction shall not rise again, my faith leaned heavily upon this truth.

To God's glory that affliction stopped permanently. I have achieved many other things in life, the bleeding never came up again.

To God's glory, I got another job, learned to play the Bass guitar, and took on some musical courses, I was also able to acquire my certifications and learned some vocational skills and crafts. I had many more achievements.  I achieved all this by the grace of God and to the glory of God!  In all these achievements, the bleeding never reoccurred.

The affliction ended permanently.

To crown it all up, God is a perfect God. He always perfects what he has started.  He made my menstrual cycle become regular again.  I got married and to God's glory,

I conceived within a month after my wedding and had my first son nine months after. Presently I am blessed with two lovely boys.

All these were only possible through Christ. God fought for me and helped me through, there is yet more to achieve and by His grace, I will make it. In short, I overcame! This is my story

'Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all' Psa 34:19

Are you going through an ugly challenge or chapter? Probably you find it difficult to share it with someone because of how ugly the issue seems.

Mine is a testimony of faith and hope in God. I encourage you to hold on to God

I am still a work of God in progress Phil 2:13, He is still working on me, pruning me, and making what he wants me to be. I believe he is working on you too. Be encouraged, you can achieve great things in life despite all odds. Stay blessed.

No one would have known if she didn't share this. God healed the wound and remove the scars, what a testimony.
Everyone of us have had our shares of unwanted events in our lives but, thank God for being God.

  7. Glory be to God for this testimony! Imagine if you had quit because of that flow, the devil would have won. But the Glory of God kept pushing you forward to pray and rebuke the devil. It is the kind of spiritual battles children of God lose easily because of prayerlessness. May God help us to be better Christians. I'm very much motivated my this testimony that I'll start praying more than I normally do. My Sister from another mother as I fondly call you,the Good Lord brought you to make a difference and I'm sure you are yet to shine brighter and brighter than ever before in Jesus Name! Glory be to God
