A balanced living is one in which there is a maximal inter-functionality of the Spirit, Soul (Understanding), and the Body and only God can help us do that, to the dividing asunder of the spirit and soul and of the bones and marrow Heb 4:12.

As shared in the first part of this post, see here. The understanding is the faculty of man that governs the reason and reasoning of man. The understanding, otherwise called the mind, intellect, is the part of the human soul that questions any and everything that you come across

Here are two key knowledge basis from today’s post

Your Understanding must be Enlightened

The eyes of the understanding being enlightened Eph 1:18, the apostle Paul admonished the church in Ephesus, charging them that their understanding was in an enlightenment process. In this, we know that believers are also in this process of this enlightenment, it also points that we need to be enlightened; this refers to the understanding being given light or simply to have revelations, to see everything clearly in the simplest forms, to see things as they really are and as God would have us see them.

This enlightenment happens through feeding the mind with the right words, Job 6:25 thoughts Heb 4:12, inspirations and revelations. This is why we prioritize teaching in the church Acts 2:42, the purpose is to ensure that the understanding is updated or given light: assigned in the right way to understanding reality, especially in God’s way and will.

This enlightenment is the reason why we have the teaching ministry in the church, Eph 4:11. Be committed to studying the scriptures, Jn 5:39, 2 Tim 2:15, reading books, and listening to the truth continually Rom 10:17.

You Must Understand God’s will

Be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is, Eph 5:17: The will of God mustn’t just be known, it must be understood, and that is where the understanding comes in; the knowledge of God’s will sits primarily with/in the Spirit, however, if we were merely spirit beings, then that’d be okay. The truth is we are not just spirits, we have a mind and a body also 1 Thess 5:23; our primary expression in the material world is by our body through the reasoning/understanding of the mind. Humans are beings of reason and that is why we have a reason for all that we do. God’s will must be translated in the realm of understanding so that it can be the strength of our reason.

And he opened their understanding that they might comprehend the scriptures Lk 24:45 Jesus opened the understanding of the disciples that they might begin to understand as He desired that they did.

Ask the Lord to open your mind today, you need to comprehend better. Understanding the understanding is the key to unlocking your great potential and living a really full life.
