Know ye not
that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1 Corr 3:16
The temple is a building where
worship of either the supreme God or any exalted deity is carried out. The
temple is strictly used for worship. Jesus spoke of Himself as being a temple, Jn
2:19-21. Paul describes believers as temples of the living God, where Godly worship happens, 1
Corr 3:16.
The temple business is the
activity that happens in the temple, Is 56:7, Mt 21:13. The temple's business is worship, it keeps
the place busy; you see, by purpose and design, the temple should be of a busy place
other than an idle one devoid of purposeful business.
There are two basic forms of business that happens in the temple: the Fathers Business and the Flesh's Business:
The Father’s Business:
The fathers business happens in
the temple that is yielded to the father; this kind of temple is called holy
because the father indwells it, it pays attention to and is very responsive to
Him. Holiness and righteousness thrive here. The worship of God happens here,
reverence of God is the order and God is the object of faith and worship. Jesus
quoted scripture that described the temple And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called
the house of prayer…
The Flesh's temple:
The works of the flesh happen
here. Denial of the Lord (sin) thrives here; ye have
made it a den of thieves; Jesus called this place a den of thieves because it was a point of grace
frustration. Here are other attributes
of this place
1. There is more Merchandise than Ministry:
Everyone had something to sell and buy, people saw it less as a grace
convergence point, rather as a business opportunity. Is there still worship
going on in your temple or have you taken to full-scale business.
2. More Business
than Burden for souls: There isn’t any
real connection with the father's heart anymore, His burden isn’t the deal here.
3. More Activities, with fewer or no Acts of the Spirit: A lot of spiritual activities
are still being conducted, but no genuine worship is done, programs have taken
over the move of the spirit, proper planning and program schedules have replaced
discernment. Ministry of happiness through comedy and feel-good activities has
replaced the joy of the Spirit.
You
are a temple but to whom are you yielded and what business goes on in your
temple?
Because you know the reason for bringing me here, Father fill me with your Spirit that cannot be resisted for your glory in Jesus name, Amen.
