Salt Life: The Influencer

Ye are the salt of the earth…Matt 5:13

There is a very strong connection between the chemical characteristics of the salt and the position and role of the man in his earthly mission. That we are called salt does not equate us to salt physically, it is a metaphorical description.

The statement (you are the salt of the earth) is a direct role and purpose description of the sons of God upon the earth; if you have been confused about your earth role and conduct, herein lies a major description of it, you are called to be the salt of it; characteristically, you are salt, positionally, you are salt, likewise functionally, you are salt.

Salt preserves and salt flavors (savor). Simply put, has an overwhelming influence on any material that it comes into contact with. In this scripture, I see a direct imposition of responsibility. Jesus here-in says that you are responsible for the earth, you are the determiners of outcomes, you are pacesetters.

If the followers of Jesus are described thus, then they are the reason why the earth is the way it is today! Our influence has brought the world thus far, things happen either because of our action or inaction. Jesus is counting on you.
