Living your life according to God’s plan as a believer doesn’t guarantee a life without crisis. John 16:33  says ‘These things I have spoken to you that in me ye might have peace. In the world, ye shall tribulations be of good cheer I have overcome the world.’ I faced a lot of challenges from a very tender age, my mother was a Christian and she brought me up in the way of the Lord. I later left my mum’s place for my secondary education, there, I stayed with guardians. I finished my secondary education and had to wait for my result so I could start preparing for my admission into the university. I got myself busy going to the library to read and also helping my aunt out with her business.

Along the line some neighbors came up with some false accusations that I had boyfriends and was always hanging around street corners committing. No one believed me including my guardians at that time, it got so bad that my guardian slapped and scolded me severely when the lies were fed him. I had no one to believe me no friend to confide in but Jesus because I knew He knew all things. I would always run to Him and cry to him to tell him how I felt each time I was being scolded and mocked by neighbors and guardians. It was indeed a very tough time.

I kept talking to Jesus about it and crying to him every day. Later my result came out and to God’s glory, amidst all my mates in the neighborhood; I was the first to get admitted into the university. God did it so much that all my accusers were silenced and everyone who despised me as a result of their false accusations began to honour me. It was really God’s doing and it is marvelous in my sight.

It reminds me of Joseph in the bible who was accused of rape by his master’s wife which led to his imprisonment in [Gen39:7-20]. Many of us know how the story ended, He eventually became Prime minister of the land of Egypt. We can see so many biblical examples of believers like Daniel, Meshach, Abednego, David, and others who went through a lot of storms yet came out victorious.

Whatever challenges you might be faced with, the affliction is for a short while. Psa 30:5 says ‘Weeping may endure for a night but Joy cometh in the morning.’ Psa 23:3,4; says ‘he restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the path of righteousness for his name sake. Yea though I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death: thou art with me: thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.’ These verses show that there are times God could lead you in a place where you will experience lots of challenges but you must be assured that God is with you in the midst of the challenges.

In Matthew 14:22-24 Jesus insisted that the disciples should go into the ship and move ahead to the other side. As they moved they found themselves in the midst of the storm. Jesus went to meet them walking on the sea to show that he is with them in the midst of the storm. This kind of storm is what is called the refiner’s fire. He allows the storm to purge you into the finest of Gold. He allowed that storm so that the disciples can witness the power of God that made Him walk upon the sea thereby increasing their faith. Whatever storm you are going through as a child of God, be assured that God is with you and he is working on you in the midst of the storm.
