Just like me, you might have thought about the humbling circumstances of Christ's birth, I felt that he deserved better and it didn't seem to align with the future royale already touted him.
Perhaps, there are important lessons that we have to learn, I noted two and will share quickly
1.
It seemed like a picture of the world, a place marred with corruption and many helpless people.
Our world today is stinking with terrible corruption, in need of cleansing, people have regressed badly with little or no humanity in them, hopelessly and helplessly wicked. 'Darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people...
2.
The humble birth of Jesus conveys an important message,
the transcendent God condescended to come to us (helpless people).
Instead of coming as a pampered, privileged ruler. He was born in meekness as one of us and this makes him approachable, accessible, and available. Jesus is calling you today, there is no barrier, come... He came humbly and His first bed was a manger.
Some argue that He wasn't really born in a manger. The circumstances might not be specifically stated, but we do know that He had a lot to do with the manger and the message and intent remain unchanged.
