Emmanuel
They shall call his name Emmanuel;" which, being interpreted, is "God with us...''

The prophet Isaiah had prophesied about the coming messiah, 700 years before His birth. He was to be called Emmanuel but this never became his widely circulated name, it instead represented the personality and ideology that He would be known by and seen as.

Prior to the birth of Jesus, men had only perceived God to be a mighty being who lived in the heavens, created all things, and ought to be worshipped, feared, and revered greatly. They couldn't handle the truth of God being one that they could have a relationship with, nor dream of having Him around.

Emmanuel reminds us that 'the Lord is here and the Lord is near.

The reality of Emmanuel is that God is now with man, relating with us as one of us. God wants every human to see Him not just as creator but as a father and close confidant. 

One of the reasons Christ came is so we can see God in the proper light, 

God is love, God desires man to be with Him always and he came to make that happen 'and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us...'

Another reality of Emmanuel today is that you can have a personal relationship with God through His son, Jesus Christ, you can become a child of God. God is with us, He is on our side, God is for us, He hears every conversation, every cry and He desires that we should be His...
