The Resurrection : The Reality and the Rumours

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. Mt 28:2-4

The resurrection of Jesus was a big embarrassment for the elite and ruling class of His day, and this was partly because it strengthened His claims of

·        Being God

·        Being God’s Son

·        The Resurrection on the third day

Jesus had previously claimed that He would resurrect on the third day of His burial Mt 27:63 and this prompted the chief priests in collusion with the government to provide tight security around the tomb area, Mt 27:66. The area was also well secured with the best tomb door of the time, a heavy rock piece, and cordoned off from public access. Perhaps, if they had figured what they were up against, they would have employed the services of spiritualists and mediums, however, the problem with this is that it puts them in a deep divide with the people because they posed as the voices of God to the people.

When Jesus finally resurrected, the soldiers couldn’t stop the mighty force of resurrection, they became jittery and almost lifeless, Mt 28:4, the stone was rolled away and Jesus walked out triumphantly and angelic presence was visible Mt 28:5. The establishment activated damage control and brought on the propaganda tool of misinformation through rumor that the disciples had stolen the body of Jesus at night, this lie is still told today Mt 28:14-15

Here are the Truth and The reality of the situation: Jesus was crucified, he died and resurrected on the third day to the glory of God, as was prophesied and supported by the gospels.1 Peter 1:3: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." 1 Corinthians 15:21: "For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.

Here’s the rumor: He never resurrected, the body was stolen by His disciples and a host of other lies which isn’t worth your time or mind space.
