Sun In Lockdown?

Some persons have voiced out concerns about the sun being on lockdown. While activities in many parts of the world have slowed down due to the lockdown enforced by many nations, what the sun is said to be currently encountering is a solar minimum and not a lockdown or shutdown.

Solar minimum is the period of least solar activity in the 11-year solar cycle of the Sun. During this time, sunspot and solar flare activity diminishes and often does not occur for days at a time. It is often noticed only long after its occurrence.

It is nothing to worry about, and shouldn’t be attributed to any doomsday prediction, as we have probably encountered many solar minimums without being aware of it

Our Earth has been encountering some distress of late. At a time when the world is already being hit with major crises after a major crisis. For the first time in a long while, the sun has never been quieter than it has been in 2019 and 2020, some scientists have warned that we have now entered "a  very deep solar minimum".  

Unfortunately, other very deep solar minimums throughout history have corresponded with brutally cold temperatures and horrific global famines, and of course this new solar minimum comes at a time when the United Nations is already warning that we are on the verge of "biblical" famines around the world.  So we better hope that the sun wakes up soon, because the alternative is almost too horrifying to talk about.

Without the sun, life on Earth could not exist, and so the fact that it is behaving so weirdly right now should be big news.
