God Never Fails

 

The LORD in the midst of her is righteous; he will not do iniquity; every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame. Zeph 3:5

Unfavourable occurrences in life sometimes make us feel that God is not who He claims to be, you might be sorely affected and utterly feel disconnected, Jesus said in this life, you will have tribulations… Jn 16:33 remember, God introduced Himself to Moses as I am that I am Ex 3:14, He remains the same mighty, powerful, great and good God.

Some years ago, a friend of mine who shares a name with a mighty prince made a statement, he said that ‘God is a failure’. Taiwo (not original name) is a fine gentleman and very intelligent. We had met at the university, our halls of residence were quite close, he was admitted to study a course that wasn’t his first choice, hoping to change to his choice course in the second year.

We had great times together, reading, reflecting, and reasoning on many life issues, I enjoyed his company because he seemed to have a desire for knowledge as I. The first semester exams of the first year was steadily approaching, and we were reading, studying, and hoping for the best in that exam, being our foundational exam.

The exams came and passed as any other exam and our expectations were high for straight A’s in courses which was the normal student’s expectation with or without preparation. The results came but were a little disappointing for many including this friend of mine, who had performed quite badly. He was so angry with himself and God that he said that ‘God is a failure’.

You know during our tough times we say things without thinking much about the effects or consequences, I cautioned him and asked him to withdraw his statement but he was reluctant. After some days, he admitted his folly, he had realized that God never fails; it is our own lack of understanding that is on display. Today he is a better man that is doing well for himself, God never failed and He never wills failure for anyone,

the fall provided us the capacity for failure.

Whatever you might be passing through today will turn around by His grace, Jesus says, be of good cheer for I have overcome the world Jn 16:33. We have to be watchful and really careful of the things that we say especially at our unguarded times, God has never failed and he will not fail, when failures happen, we need to check on ourselves and not on God. God is all that He needs to be already, we are not.
